✨ The Invincible Warrior: Komal Godse‑Pawar ✨
🌸 A Spark That Refused to Fade
A vibrant young woman from a modest family in Satara, Komal Godse‑Pawar was intelligent, cheerful, and ambitious. She completed her Civil Engineering degree and earned a Master’s from Pune University. During college she won titles like Miss Karad, Mrs. Satara, and Miss Pune. In 2013, her world collapsed when her mother passed away suddenly. With her father retired and a younger brother still studying, Komal took on the entire responsibility of her family, working tirelessly as a lecturer while giving private tuitions.
💔 A Happy Beginning Turns Dark
In May 2015, she married Dhiraj Godse. A new life began filled with dreams, but within months she started suffering from breathlessness, dizziness, and extreme weakness. After multiple hospital visits, the shocking diagnosis arrived— Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare and fatal lung disease. Her lungs were failing, her heart was weakening, and soon she was completely dependent on oxygen.
⚔️ The Battle with Death
Her weight dropped from 56 kg to just 20 kg. Every breath was a struggle, and doctors said she had only six months to live. Yet her husband Dhiraj never gave up hope, encouraging her to fight. When all options failed, doctors suggested a rare and risky heart and lung transplant. But the surgery cost nearly ₹50 lakh. Through crowdfunding and the collective effort of people across Maharashtra, the money was raised within 15 days.
💖 A Miracle Donor and a Second Life
On 28 May 2017, after a 16-hour surgery by a team of 30 doctors, Komal received a new heart and lungs from a 16‑year‑old donor from Kerala. For the first time in years, she could take a deep, free breath—her rebirth had begun.
🌈 From Survivor to Inspiration
Komal didn’t stop at survival. She founded the Komal New Life Foundation on 28 December 2017 to guide and support other transplant patients, spreading awareness about organ donation. Through seminars, media interviews, marathons, and motivational talks, she continues to inspire thousands in India and beyond.
🌟 The Message She Shares
Komal’s story reminds us that life is precious and our body is the most priceless gift. One organ donor can save up to eight lives. Through her journey, she urges everyone: “Choose life. Choose to fight. And pledge to donate your organs—because someone’s tomorrow depends on it.”
